All About Spelling, Level 1, Step 9: Short U Sound
We reviewed several past cards (sounds, rules, etc.) very briefly and moved on to the short U sound. AA used his letter tiles first, then he wrote them down on paper. I am learning along with him on this one. The differences between some sounds are incredibly subtle to me, so I keep the CD handy to refer back over and over again.
Moving Beyond the Page 6-8 – Concept 3, Unit 1, Lesson 6: Geography, Weather and Natural Disasters
Today we looked at different habitats scenarios, we played acting out activities suitable for each habitat. We looked at different natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes and tornadoes. AA researched information about each and wrote his own paper with his own questions. Lastly, we learned how to create a tornado in a bottle. We found a nice video to illustrate this.
